OK, here's my problem. My wife is the computer person in the family, an engineer actually, but doesn't have the time to research building a HD-DVR and I'm a component/parts idiot.
So, I know I want linux based Myth TV, and from my research I think
Hauppuage win tv PVR-250/350 for the encoder.
PC HDTV-HD3000 or HD5500 for the capture card.
As for the rest of what I need I'm pulling a blank.
But this is what I need to have for my home theater.
HD ota is all I'm concerned with, no cable, no satellite.
It needs to pause and rewind, record one channel while watching another, at least 5.1 sound (optical or coaxial), component output for my old Mitsubishi Diamond T.V., and a remote.
And any suggestions for a horizontal black case that would look good in my components rack.
Oh, and being able to burn HD content to a Blue-Ray format would be awesome.
O.K., I think that covers it. If anybody can help me out it will be greatly appreciated.

The PVR-250/350 wont work for direct OTA after Feb 2009.

If all you are concerned with is HD OTA, why are you interested in the PVR 2/350? Those are only SD tuners. They encode the directly to MPEG2. The 350 has the benefit of having a decoder as well. If you are interested, in various hardware setups, read the Tier 1 section. BTW: You don't post questions in Tier 1, unless you are asking someone a question about their hardware.
