Post subject:  Box won't boot from harddrive after auto-install
Hey folks,
I'm baffled. New hardware...7nif2 mobo, 200gb WD hdd as primary master.

The harddrive is recognized by the bios and by knoppmyth. I ran the auto-install and went through the process and it says that it installed knoppmyth on the harddrive. When I reboot after removing CD, I get an error message telling me to insert system disk.

Not sure if this is related...but I ran the manual install (after several autoinstalls) and after the install, it returned me to a prompt. I attemted to run lilo just to make sure that it was being run and it errored out with an error saying invalid character or something !. I editted /etc/lilo.conf and commented out the line starting with ! that said to comment out when done editting lilo.conf. Anyway...I tried to re-run lilo and it said it was a read-only filesystem and couldn't be written to. I suspect it was trying to write to the CD but perhaps not.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you set your BIOS to boot from the hard drive?
