Post subject: | Linhes R8 and xmodmaps |
I was running an R7.4 system with a custom xmodmap file for my ATI remote wonder. I used this post to configure the system to load the xmodmap: http://forum.linhes.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3093 I upgraded to R8 today and see that it has a different window manager. Could someone tell me how to do with equivalent step of modifying the /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps file so I can load my xmodmap file? Thanks |

I apologize for taking so long to respond; I wanted to wait until the wildcard games were done before messing with my system. I didn't check, but I suspect that the 1.local file would get executed before X started, so I didn't try there. Instead, similar to the R7 .fluxbox/app file, I found the file that starts mythfrontend on R8 and modified it. I used this post for reference http://forums.linhes.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=24031. There are some other X related calls in the /etc/X11/Sessions/LinHES script, so I just added my xmodmap call with them. Code: xhost +local: xhost +127.0.0.1 xset -dpms s off xmodmap /home/mythtv/.xmodmap-atiremote I know this is not the right place to put a customization and it will probably be overwritten during a future upgrade, but this gets me going again. I'd like to now spend some time figuring out custom remotes so I don't keep struggling with this remote during each upgrade. Thanks for your help. |

LinHes will also run any program located in the dir /etc/X11/autostart So you could have created the file /etc/X11/autostart/xmodmap and placed the startup commands in there. |
