If/When i want to upgrade from .15 to .16 are there another other options other then:

Since you're fiarly new, I'll break you in easy. Your query has been answered, perhaps a search of the forum?

Thanks ... :-) I have searched the forum and see threads regarding V5 containing .16, backing up and Auto Upgrading, I have seen a little thread about deb packages.

So I gather that I will be update via cd /w auto update and a backup!

Thanks!

Debs will be available. So for those that have a perfectly functioning installation, apt-get update, apt-get install blah blah blah blah...

If you read what I posted, it states debs will be available not are available. I posted just yesterday that R4V5 and the debs will be available before the end of the week.

Well I believe that little thread you spoke of mentioned that they are in testing. once they are available to everyone there will be a post in the announcement telling you where they are how to install them, most likely it will be just like the 0.15 debs, which do have a post telling how to do it. So basically at this point if you want 0.16 you either wait or compile from source. The wait shouldn't be that long.

Have you tried "apt-cache search mythtv"? Using default debian (or knoppix) sources.list this command gives you all mythtv .deb package names.

Or use a front-end like synaptic or kpackage.

Hope be helpful.
