Hello
I installed LinHES on 64GB SSD Intel NUC i3
Lately i am getting /def/sda1 warning to be nearly full and sometimes 100% full leading to the read only mount of the filesystem.
I am getting tired of deleting logs under /var/log and also moving directories to an attached USB drive (2TB) (/dev/sdc1) and attached USB 1TB (/dev/sdb1)
All my recordings are on attached USB drives
Anytime i install new software or update LinHES it takes more disk space on /dev/sda1, mostly because of updated libraries

I am wondering if there is a better way out there, aside from buying a bigger SSD to replace the 64GB SSD

I was thinking about deleting some partitions and expanding /dev/sda1
But i am not sure what other problems i may be inviting.

Your best bet is to backup and make sure the backup is saved on one of the attached USB drives. Then reinstall and give 10gb or more to root, 10gb to home, and 10gb to sql.

Hi,

I've suffered very long from the same problem, in my case it's /dev/sdb1. I was bold enough to try live linux boot and use gparted for arranging more space to sdb1 from the other partitions. It didn't help too much, since some partitions (swap?) in between could not be moved.

I was also baffled for a while, since I couldn't find what is taking space from that partition. Something that was hidden from normal tools e.g. ncdu. I finally tried moving and linking /tmp to more spacious partitiion, and I've been much happier ever since. I should have thought of that earlier, since I'm using Chrome quite a lot from my couch. Now the 8G sdb1 is 94% full (after cleaning logs), so eventually I'll need a new disk.

A full root disk partition gives so much trouble that I'd consider giving it 20G -or more. Disk space is cheap...
