Hi all: While my X seems to be working fine, I just noticed a couple of things that have been happening. (I didn't notice the errors previously because I was booting straight to X and then shutting down. Now I run X from the command prompt and exit back to the prompt) This is in R5A12 with nvidia driver version 6629. When X exits, I still see this: (==)Using config file: "etc/X11XF86Config-4" Skipping "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/fonts/libspeedo.a;spencode.o": No symbols found Warning: font renderer for ".pcf" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for ".pcf.Z" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for ".pcf.gz" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for ".snf" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for ".snf.Z" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for ".snf.gz" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for ".bdf" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for ".bdf.Z" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for "bdf.gz" already registered at priority 0 Warning: font renderer for ".pmf" already registered at priority 0 [code] Can anyone suggest how to fix that? The second thing is small, but important to me. When I installed the nvidia drivers, the background wallpaper with Cecil and Dale on it disappeared. Instead, I just get a gray background. Can someone tell me how to install that background again? Thanks shplad |

The X errors are harmless. It's just scanning the same font rendering modules twice. If the messages bother you enough, you can fiddle with the font lists in XF86Config-4 to try to prevent it from trying to load twice, but it doesn't actually cause any harm. |
