I have managed to get MythTV going mostly, but each time I reboot the machine it resets the protections and ownership of /dev/dvb0 and everything in /dev/dvb so that only root can access the device and the directory contents, as a result mythbackend fails to open /dev/dvb0, I reset the protections, and ownership so that mythbackend works and mythfrontend allows me to watch TV, next reboot and I have to do it all over again, no hardware changes are made between boots.
