This is a stupid question, but when my video is not working, how do I get back to the monitor?

In older versions of KnoppMyth I could hit ctrl-alt-F1 or F7 and it would give me a prompt and I could log in. With R5A16 this no longer works. Help!

ctrl+alt+(F1-F6) will get you to a console if you are in X. If you are in a console you can get to a different console with atl+(F1-F6) to get back to X you use alt+F7 This does work in the latest version of knoppmyth, if it is not working you have a problem.

I fixed it by reinstalling from scratch. But I just reproduced it by running through the 350 installation guide and going through the troubleshooting guide.

It says
set vga=normal in /etc/lilo.conf
lilo -v
reboot

When I did that I ended up in the same state. Neither alt-F# nor ctrl-alt-F# work in that case. Time to reinstall again!

I do not have a pvr350, and things are quite different with this card, as it is not a true video card, however I do use vga=normal with my nvidia card, and I can confirm that the key combonations discussed do work with it.
