After searching the forum and wiki, I'm going to ask for help.
I am running:
NVidia Geforce4 MX 420
PVR-150 MCE (radio)
Problems:
1) Watch Live TV: No picture, No sound, 15 second wait then returned to the menu.
2) Linux makes me feel stupid.
After I installed and noticed the problem...
I checked the bios settings and made the following changes:
enabled "PNP aware OS"
Disabled all unnecessary onboard devices (serial, || , etc)
Then I tried these:
Made sure input and source were correctly configured in the setup.
updated ivtv according to the wiki
updated nvidia drivers to 8187
added "Load v4l" line to XFree86Config-4
A dmesg does not indicate the EEProm problem and identifies the tuner card correctly.
The only thing that I can identify as an error is a message in dmesg stating "NVIDIA taints kernel" I also think my monitor has been incorrectly identified (the model number is wrong).
If anyone has any ideas or needs me to post a file, please let me know.
