Post subject: | Myth over NFS |
Does anyone else have -all- their Myth data residing on a seperate non Myth NFS volume even on the backend? How is that working for you? Any difference for HD or SD? Currently, my backend serves as both the backend and the nfs server for the other systems in the house. I am considering moving to a dedicated NFS storage server and seperating out the Myth functionality to the three Frontend systems (making one a master and the rest slave backends) I plan to use Solaris 10 x86 with ZFS as the filesystem and then export it out with NFS v4 (over gigabit ethernet) to the KnoppMyth hosts. Is anyone else looking at ZFS on Solaris 10 as a storage solution? |

I have my /myth folder mounted over NFS to a central server and play and record all my files from there. Works perfectly. |

HeyHey~ I have a file server with all of my video stored on it shared to /myth/video via NFS. The only problem I've encountered is with playing DVD's- something to do with permissions. I haven't really spent too much time trying to figure it out since 99% of the time I just use the import function, which works fine. I also have all of my .mp3's & digital pictures on the file server shared to /myth/music & /myth/gallery- no issues there, works great! running R5B7 |
