I'm looking to add a 2nd hard drive. I know about this wiki on setting up LVM:
http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=LvmHowTo

Reading it sounds like it's intended for a fresh install. Will this blow away all my files on my current hard drive partition? If so what's the best method to backup and restore my files?
Thanks

I added another HD temporarily. I think I plugged into the slave on the second IDE channel (with the DVD).
I mounted it as \lifeboat and then copied everything from \myth into it. Did the LVM thing, then copied it all back.

The old manual procedure deals with that situation pretty well. If you look at the guts of the script it actually follows them pretty closely (aside from the assumption that ther'es nothing there yet).
