I am finishing up my fresh install and need help with my last two issues.

I have a PVR-250 and a PVR-500. When I record or watch tv on any of the cards some channels come in nice and clear while others are of poor quality. It's only a few channels and it is consistently the same ones and it's the ones I record most of the time (local ABC and NBC).

Also, when I watch live TV every channel I watch automatically starts recording. I have never seen this before. Up until re-installing, I was on R5A26 and never had this problem and I can't seem to find an option to turn it off if it's a "feature".

Any help would be great and thanks again.

The picture quality problem is covered in tjc's hints. Best to read the whole article, especially know issues:

Drunken monkey instructions for changing capture resolutions are in this thread.

I believe thats the way live tv works now. All live viewing is actually a recording. That makes it easy to decide that you want to save something that you have been watching. The recordings will age out and disappear in a day, so they shouldn't be too bothersome.

And you can turn off the option to view them, see http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 6687#99601
