R5F27 really is great.
autodetected all hardware. Worked right out of the box.
Excellent work. Thank you.

I wasted a few hours of my life trying to delete netflix from the R5F27 menu system. Edited XML files, restart, edit. restart.

How do I get rid of netflix ?
Phone too. I have a VOIP system, but I don't want it as part of my Knoppmyth box.

If I were to vote on things that should be nuked from further releases I would choose those two.

Thank you

You just need to edit the /usr/share/mythtv/info_menu.xml file to remove these buttons. Or better yet copy the info_menu.xml to /home/mythtv/.mythtv/ and edit that version. Myth looks there first and loads that file. Here is how I commented out the Phone item from info_menu.xml:
Code:
<!--   <button>
     <type>PHONE</type>
     <text>Phone</text>
     <text lang="JA">é^ۻ話</text>
     <text lang="DE">Telefon</text>
     <text lang="IS">Sími</text>
     <text lang="FI">Puhelin</text>
     <text lang="NL">Telefoon</text>
     <text lang="SV">Telefon</text>
     <text lang="FR">Téléphone</text>
     <text lang="SI">Telefon</text>
     <text lang="ET">Telefon</text>
     <text lang="NB">Telefon</text>
     <text lang="DK">Telefon</text>
     <text lang="ES">Teléfono</text>
     <text lang="PT">Telefone</text>
     <text lang="CZ">Telefon</text>
     <text lang="RU">Ã?¢Ã?µÃ?»Ã?µÑ^ÄÃ?¾Ã?½</text>
     <action>PLUGIN mythphone</action>
     <depends>mythphone</depends>
   </button> -->

Also, you don't need to reboot to see the change. Just exit mythfronend and then restart mythfrontend (Alt-m).

restart.

You're doing it the hard way, but I think you've already
realized that. Just go to /usr/lib/mythtv/plugins and
delete/rename/move the modules you don't want. I usually just
create a new directory for the stuff I don't want and move
files into it.

Here's what it looks like on my system:

Code:
$ tree /usr/lib/mythtv/plugins
/usr/lib/mythtv/plugins
|-- disabled-plugins
|   |-- libmythbookmarkmanager.so
|   |-- libmythflix.so
|   |-- libmythgallery.so
|   |-- libmythgame.so
|   |-- libmythnews.so
|   |-- libmythphone.so
|   `-- libmythstream.so
|-- libmytharchive.so
|-- libmythcontrols.so
|-- libmythdvd.so
|-- libmythmusic.so
|-- libmythvideo.so
`-- libmythweather.so

Hi,

"tree" is not a standard command in KM, at least not in mine.

True.

Are you asking a question, trying to make a point, or just
stating a fact?

Assuming the first and that you're asking how I installed it: I
typed the command below at a shell prompt (as root):
Code:
apt-get install tree
