The one thing that has REALLY bothered me about KnoppMyth is the fact that the keyboard commands are different in almost anything you do.

For example volume up when watching tv is set to ']' by default HOWEVER when you are watching a video volume up is '0'.

Why can't all the keys be the same?

Can someone point me in the direction of a key listing or something that would help me out?

Thanks

Howdy,

Check here.

If you use the internal player for videos then the keybindings should be the same. If you use something like xine or mplayer then they're likely to be different, check the documentation appropriate to the program you use. You should also be able to change keybindings on those programs as you can in MythTV. For MythTV use Setup menu or MythWeb to change keys.

Regards,
Kirk.

Because Mythtv, Xine, Mplayer, and many others are all different programs written by different groups.

To edit Mythtv keys
Mythtv Menu>>Utilities / Setup>> Edit Keys>>

To edit Xine
open xterm window Alt x
xine -pfhq
left click mouse to open menu
>>Settings>>Keymap Editor>>

Just scroll threw and look where they are set and if you don't like them change them. Remember if you make changes your remote Lirc would also need updating.

I also use the internal DVD player

TVBox

ajacobs, I just recently setup a knoppmyth box and am still using the default (Xine) DVD player. And I am using the default (mplayer) Video player. (Very basic) instructions on switching to the Internal player are here:
http://mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Internal_player

I will actually probably switch to the internal player to keep things uniform.
