Hello All,

Spec's below.

Since I upgraded to R5f1 I've been getting random bursts of audio static. This did not happen with any previous version of Knoppmyth (previous 5 versions). It happens on every channel, and about 4 or 5 times per half-hour.

I have the video set as the timebase and the aggressive sound buffering enabled. Master volume is set to about 80%.

Any suggestions for how to solve this one? Any more info required?

thanks,

L0o0ky,

The specs:
P4 3.0GHZ (prescott)
1GB RAM
ASUS P4P800 MB
PVR-500
300GB & 500GB drives in LVM
Onboard sound
3com 3c905B (gigabit port died)

I was noticing a couple of issue similar to this. I even noticed a few cases where my video would be blotchy for a second and then return to normal.

When I looked around at some of my Log files, I found
Application not reading fast enough. which seemed to coincide with the time these issues showed up.

I followed the instructions in this post
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=100940

Increasing the size of my Mpeg buffers.

I don't know if this exaclty fixed it but captures now are great.

I noticed immediately that my log erros went away but more importantly I am not seeing the video blocky issues or hearing the static burps in my captures.

I also have a PVR-500 and 2 PVR-150 cards it helped on all of them.

hth.

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any errors in my log files that even remotely resemble the ones in that post--not sure I'm seeing any at all.

As far as the video signal, there are no distortions during the times of the static burst of noise.
