Hi,

For the past few months I've been using the liveCD frontend system on my desktop box to login to my knoppmyth backend and edit recordings.

For some reason, the last few times I've booted with the CD the RTL 8139/8139C/8139C+ card hasn't been brought up in the hardware detection phase.

The card works perfectly when I boot into Win XP.

I'm not sure if there are kernel options I should try at boot time or whether there's a module I should load after booting (I've looked around and the 8139 and 8139too modules don't seem to be on the CD).

I've tested the CD for errors and that's not the cause, and I've no idea what else could be causing the problem.

Thanks,

Daniel

The modules you seek are built into the kernel. If it is the same version of KnoppMyth you are using, have you made any changes in the BIOS? Any additional hardware changes?

Thanks cecil.

I noticed during my testing that there was an error message appearing during the BIOS screen to do with the second IDE channel.

On a punt, I replaced one of the IDE cables and somehow that fixed the problem. Bizarre.
