First off, I just upgraded from a fanless Epia to a 2.4GHz "real" processor. I had been determined to have a silent box, but with a little planning I was able to get it "good enough" with a couple quiet fans and the increased usability has made me VERY happy. Among other things, I can now use the live tv mode regularly (just watching worked fine before...browsing and menus and all that, not so much.)

Which leads me to my current problem. I was tweaking the settings for live tv, and I suddenly noticed that the pop-up browse display was not timing out. My system is set up to just browse but not change channels until I select. I could swear that the browse display had been timing out if I didn't press any buttons for several seconds, but now I have to hit the "back" key or "escape" or whatever you call it. I noticed this after selecting the option to show the program guide when starting live tv; when I changed it back, the problem continued. Question: am I just misremembering, or should the browse mode timeout and disappear in live tv? If so, how do I set it back to the way it was? I HAVE checked the browsing timeout in the tv setup menu, and nothing has changed there, nor do I recall changing any settings that would result in this behavior. Any ideas?

UPDATE: I did determine that the browse display goes away after about 30 seconds (a feature I had read about in my search,) but my recollection is that I had been seeing it fade away after just a few seconds, just like other popup displays (mute on/off, for example.) It may very well be that I am misremembering, but I sure would like to figure out how to make it fade away after about 5 seconds!
