I have 2 PVR-150's. On one tuner channel 3 is good, on the other it is less than good. Grainy pixeled (most likely due to bad signal), but usable. So I figured I had a bad cable. I tried switching cables between tuners fully expecting that to be the fix. Nope that tuner gives me the same picture on that channel and ch 2 for that matter. no matter what cable is plugged in.

Any ideas?

Perhaps the wrong cable standard (cable-hrc/irc)...

I am not quite sure I follow? All the other channels past channel 3 look fine.

Do you have anything in the loop rebroadcasting on those channels like a cable box, vcr, ...? Have you checked for other sources of cross talk? Have you tried fine tuning?

ok how I am set up

From the wall to a 3 way splitter. one into a cable modem and the other two into my Myth box. Then from my Myth box to the TV. No VCR. I will try the fine tuning, but I did not think it could be done on a per tuner basis.

It almost sounds like the problem I reported. For me it's 2-5 on the one card; not just 3. Also you say it looks like bad signal, while I think mine looks like bad encoding.

Still I wonder if it's possible that the problems are similar... Is one of your cards older than the other? Are they both the EXACT same pvr-150 model? (there are a few variants of the PVR-150)

They were not bought at the same time. I am not sure how to tell if they are different with out opening the box.

Check the log files as covered in the troubleshooting pages on the wiki. That will tell you the appropriate PVR models and a bunch of other information about the cards.
