My motherboard died, so I just replaced it with another brand. Myth booted OK after the replacement, but I figured I should rerun the R5F27 upgrade CD to let it re-detect the drivers and everything.

I did the upgrade and it through some I/O errors during the install. Now when I boot I get a series of:

99 99 99 99 99...etc

What happened? Is there anything that I can do to recover? (Unfortunately, I don't have a recovery diskette.)

Start here: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=WillNotBoot And here: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=BlackScreenAfterInstall

These include instructions on how to use the CD as a rescue disk... I thought we had a page specifically on that, but it didn't turn up after a quick search...

Thanks TJC.

Shockingly, I just fixed it by putting both my master and slave drives on the same IDE cable. I had them on the same cable with my old motherboard and when I put the new motherboard in I put them on different cables because I had the room to.

I ended up putting them back on the primary IDE, rerunning the R5F27 upgrade and it worked.

I guess that's a lesson for everyone...don't go changing drive cables around during an upgrade.
