Hi,
A while back someone had posted some ideas on how to recode a hd recording that cropped the ends off so it fit nicely on to a tv (I use 350 tv out). After hours of searching I have yet to relocate those tid bits of gold and am hoping someone else may recall the thread?

Sadly I don't even recall who posted the tip so I could narrow the search a little.

I do my hd recording with the HDHomerun box which currently forces me to use a monitor for viewing.

You can do it as a manual process with a program called avidemux:

I haven't really tried the second. I've only cropped non-anamorphic widescreen DVDs in acidrip, which uses mencoder.

No, had already checked them but I think you have an idea of what it is about. I think the post was in the past~ 6 months but don't recall much else unique to the original title. It was something I had intended to bookmark but didn't...

In general it is the snippets that I am after, one was a sample of how to start late and end early to grab something out of the middle.

The second item is the biggie as in there was how to cut the left and right sides off to leave a 4x3 center out of a hd recording.
