Hi all,

I have a second front end and my video collection doesn't show. So I run the video scan and get them all to appear ... but it blanks my front end video collection - losing all the imdb info that I had put in. Is there a way around this?

tks!
John

Hi jmacmythtv,

Under what path are your videos available to Frontend-A?
Under what path are your videos available to Frontend-B?

For best results, these two should be the same.

IE.

Frontend-A /myth/videos
Frontend-B /myth/videos

Symbolic links will work here and you may need to adjust the settings in the frontend to reflect this.

I hope this helps.

BigB.

Hi BigB,

I think on the FE/BE they are in the standard /myth/videos.
On the FE only, I have an NFS share that maps to the BE but it would have a couple of extra directory levels, iirc: home/john/MYVCR/myth/Videos

Strangely, I didn't tell the FE only machine to look in that particular location ... it seems to have found it on its own??

I will check this out later tonight, add some symlinks and report back.

Thanks!

That was the issue. In the video setup, I had pointed the frontend to my NFS mount which was different from the backend path. I created a symlink on the front end, changed the setting, and now the frontend and backend share nicely.

tks!
