Found this one slashdot. While mythtv grows, Tivo makes becomes less useful....

Would this mean if you bought a lifetime membership for a certain feature that you will pretty much get screwed...?

Bingo. This is a maojor reason why I built a MythTV box rather than buying a Tivo.
