That's the best way I can describe it. If I record with either my PVR-250 or PVR-350, on playback the recording looks like it's jumping forward and backwards and showing random frames. Audio plays back correctly while the video displays like this.

Recordings I made on this backend under R4V5 play back correctly. Most annoyingly, live tv plays back correctly.

I did have to do the modprobe ivtv thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your db for errors.

I did
Code:
myisamchk *.MYI >> mythconverg_check.log

and the log checked clean, no errors found.

I re-ran mythtv-setup and cleared out my cards and channels and set them up again. No difference.

Any other ideas? I checked mythbackend.log and am not seeing anything obvious. Should I try swapping card slots?

I will probably be going back to R4V5 otherwise (and changing my vote in the poll to make 0.17 debs for it :)

OK, I know this is probably what was expected of me, but I still have to brag that I managed to fix this myself. At least it appears that I have.

I thought "these cards are old, maybe it's a firmware thing." Saw that there was newer firmware on Hauppauge's website than was in /usr/local/lib/ivtv/driver/ . Downloaded it. Got it onto my MythTV box. Managed to find the name of the script that would extract it. Ran said script and got this:

Code:
ivtvfwextract.pl: Can't open /tmp/ivtvex.nnnn/hcwpvrp2.sys: No such file or directory

nnnn was some number. Anyhow, searched for hcwpvrp2.sys on Google and found a Gentoo wiki page that described how to edit the perl script to avoid this error. I extracted, rebooted, and am now apparently glitch-freely recording both SI Swimsuit Model Search and G4 Sports. Er, I mean, I'm recording C-SPAN and History Channel. :)
