As I previously reported, R5A10 is pretty stable. However, the menu performance is significantly slower than R4V5 (navigating thru the music lists, for example). Anyboy else seeing this?

I am running R4V5 and R5A10 on identical machines (HP/Compaq 2.8 SFF machine, nVidia GeForce MX440, Hauppauge TV card, 160 meg + 200 meg drives (DMA enabled)).

I had the same problem until I installed the nVidia driver. The default driver is really slow.

To install the nVidia driver, be sure you un-tar the kernel sources first, then use the script "/usr/local/bin/install-nvidia-6629-debian.sh" to install the driver. You'll be amazed that the menu speed is right back up there.

Thanks Liv2Cod - that was the issue. And, after reading your reply, I re-read the instructions and, sure enough, plain as day, it is there - and I didn't do it - and I knew better. Oh well...

count me in.. fixed my issue right away :)

I assumed that because my frontend was headless and i only installed R5A10 through S-Video out on the geforce that it loaded the gforce drivers.

some reason fedora and suse wouldn't use s-video out at all (or correctly) until i had the nvidia drivers installed.
