that would suck having several isdn lines available and having to use each of them individually and not be able to aggregate them.

ETSI BRI != North Americal BRI. Voice services were never well developed on NA BRI.

With ETSI (point to multi-point), there can be up to 8 terminals (phones, PC cards, etc) on the same access. Each by default rings for all incoming calls, but can be programmed to ring based on the called/calling DN. You can have all terminals ring and pick up the call on any terminal. You can park the call and retrieve it on any other terminal. Plus the standard set of service (3WC, CW, HOLD, CF, CLIP, CLIR, etc.).

2x64k is pretty limited for data, but it still is nice for voice. In Germany, many people keep their BRI when upgrading to DSL because they like the phones (okay, DT is pushing for it too).
