Hello,

I have Knoppmyth R5A16 and was running fine. My cable tv company decided to change it's channel line up so I made what I thought was the appropriate changes. I logged into zap2it and removed my line and then added the new line up that zap2it had made. I then hooked up my box back to my monitor by changing the symbolic link. I then ran mythtv-setup and when I was asked I cleared the tv line up but kept the tuner card settings ( First two questions right after you run mythtv-setup). I then went into the part where it asks for your zap2it user name and password and enter them and filled the channel line up. I then changed the sym link back to my tv card and hooked it back up to my tv. Next I ran mythfilldatabase and then checked the listings. All the new channels and changes were perfect. Now when I try to watch live tv it says I have something being recored ( I don't ) and when I try to schedule a recording the Recording the Recording Schedule shows the program I want to record but the Scheduled Recordings does not and nothing will record. One last bit of info, I know I had stuff scheduled to record before I made the above changes so I think the database in Sql may need to be cleared. I looked in Webmin and the SQL Database and I can find Record Data but not Scheduled Recordings. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am not a SQL guy nor do I have any programming skills so please keep it simple. :)

HI jimmyjoemeeker02,

That's a bummer to say the least. Have you tried using mythweb and going through scheduled recordings / recording schedules and cancelling them all? If they are still in the database it maybe able to clear them. In theory, the restore should have erased the original list however it would also added what was scheduled at the time of backup, weeks ago? It is an idea at least.

Hi Mike,

I don't have any programs in Scheduled Recordings currently. When I try to schedule a recording it will show up in Recording Schedules but not Scheduled Recordings. I have cancelled those programs and tried to schedule recordings again but they never appear. I think it got messed up when I removed everything when I ran mythtv-setup and still had programs in the scheduled recordings. I am hoping someone out there understands the data structure in mysql and can walk me through it. Thanks fo ryou response.

Hi jimmyjoemeeker02,

Unless you enjoy the headache, maybe now is the time to move to A26 ? Depending on how things got hosed, it could take days to figure out the magic trick to make it work again. According to cesman's annoucement, A16 > A26 is an ok upgrade and would keep you on track for the future.

Food for thought.
Mike

I'm guessing that you have a simpler problem. After you cleared your DB did you go back through and make sure that your cards and input connections were both set up properly? Nothing will show up as scheduled if there are recording devices to schedule them against. I've explained the reasons for this in great detail before so I won't go back over it now. The bottom line is when the scheduler tries to map requests to resources, if there are no valid resources the result will be the empty set.

Thanks for the input. Please let me know what you guys think.

I had a back up knoppmyth from a few months ago I ran the restore yesterday. It brought back my old channel line up and my old recorded programs that had not been deleted. Recorded Programs that were done between the backup and yesterday were gone with the exception of the ones that were recorded before the backup and were never deleted. I also don't get the error when I try to watch tv anymore. I really don't have anything recorded that I want to save so my thought was to remove all the old recorded programs and clear the scheduled recordings, then fix the channel line up again. I then would entertain upgrading but since I think the databases need to be cleaned up first. Does anyone know how to clear or delete the recorded programs safely from SQL? I have Webmin can go into MYSQL Database Server I think the recored programs are in mythconverg. Since I don't know what I am doing with databases I don't want to try anything that would mess anything up. Also is there any pitfalls with A26? I have read issues with other upgrades and since I am at the mercy of the group for help it takes a considerable amount of time to get things working. I enjoy the challenge and appreciate the help.

Thanks.
