Somehow I have hosed my channel table and am unable to repair it. While running mythfilldatabase I got the following error:

Quote:

Query was:
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM program LEFT JOIN channel USING (chanid) WHERE sourceid = 1 AND starttime >= DATE_ADD(CURRENT_DATE(), INTERVAL '13 18' DAY_HOUR) AND starttime < DATE_ADD(CURRENT_DATE(), INTERVAL 14 DAY)
Driver error was [2/1017]:
QMYSQL3: Unable to execute query
Database error was:
Can't find file: 'channel.MYI' (errno: 2)

In sql manager I tried

Code:
repair table channel;

but recieve this error:

Output from SQL command repair table channel; ..

Table Op Msg_type Msg_text

any suggestions for repairing or reloading the table?

Look for Cecil's sticky post about repairing you DB. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1043

If it's REALLY fubar you might be able to do a backup, and an auto-upgrade. Make sure to verify that the backup worked before you start.

that was a horrible chain of events....

here's what happened. Turns out I was having an issue with Zap2it not connecting a couple days ago. I shut my box down while it was trying to download which caused some corruption with the channel table. For the next two days cron was trying to run which filled my logs and filled the drive.

Fix...

cleaned the logs by moving to another drive (just in case)

ran mythtv-setup and removed my channel data and reloaded

this seems to have repaired the table and things are looking good....

lesson 1 : rotate logs
lesson 2 : change the time zap2it downloads data

;)
