A rack mountable server to host the site. It will be used for web, db, ftp and repositry.

Do the hosts require anything special (like a Sun Netra running Solaris?),
or will any generic Linux PC do?

(not that my employer is giving away any of our Netras, but someone over there may have some spare!)

Well, folks the quest for a new server is coming to a close. We've decided to go with a:
Supermicro 5014C-MT
3.6GHz P4
2GB RAM
2 x 250GB SATA disk

However we are still a little short. If you ever thought 'I'd like to help the community but I'm not a programmer...' This could be your way.
