Now for my question. The cron job that I set up to do this doesn't seem to be working. Any one else have this problem?

I'll recommend changing the /dev/null entries in your .sh file and your crontab entry to a log file or three. Then you can cat the log files to see what errors you are getting when the job is running.

That should help you diagnose where the problem is.

I am actually having the same issues.

I can run the .sh file manually and it works fine, but the cron just will not work. I am running R4v5 btw and I followed the instructions and they worked perfectly.

I can get my shows if I run it manually but it will not run it on its own at 2 and 2.

I have gotten it to work, but, when I add a new feed to the file it downloads every podcast episode in that feed, how can I make it only download the latest 2 or 3?

In the IPodderData directory you should have a History.txt file. You have to put all of the file names that you do not want to download into it.

I am still having an issue my my cron job and I am just to stupid to figure it out for myself. I can run ipodder.sh manually and get no errors but when I wait for the cron to do it i get this error in the log file:

Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

Now I assume that I did some stupid with the permissions or something, but I can't seem to figure out what. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hmm, I have never seen one of those GTK errors. Although there is another mention of them in this thread. I've got some time. I'll look into it.

By that I mean, I'll see about integrating the changes into the newer castpodder client and seeing how that works out.

Hey alewman, how are you editing the .db files?
I want to remove some feeds from the download list and I saw you mention that you have to edit the database file, also, but I have no idea how to do that...

thanks.
