I started to play with ripping my DVDs to strore them within myth. After I rip the DVD and then go to play it I have no sound. This seems similar to when I would use the mythbox to play a DVD.

I have to have the soung go through the sound card instead of through the hardware dongle. The quality is not as good (cheap sound card). Is there any way to get the sound to go through the hardware other than routing the sound out from the pvr-350 into the line-in on the soundcard and using the soundcard for all sound output?

No. If you want sound out of anything except live tv or a tv recording (which can use the 350 as output) then you need to use the sound card. If its no good, then you need a new one .... it also means you can use your MythTV remote to control the volume/mute of everything (assuming you put the 350 output through the sound card as well).
