Not sure why nobody wants to reply...it's a simple question.

Has anyone gotten MythBurn to work in R5Beta7 right out of the box? This means no futzing around, it just works.

If nobody has, then who was able to make it work, and what was the problem that had to be solved?

Just let me know that it is a possiblility and what things in general need to be done if you don't have specific links. I'll look the stuff up and do the write up if need be.

Thanks.

It worked for me with R5B7 right out of the box for one disc I tried to make. I used the MythWeb interface, selected four 30-min recordings (as-is, no editing of commercials), made an NTSC ISO image, copied it to a Windows machine, and burned with Nero to DVD. The resulting DVD worked fine on set-top boxes (interestingly it did not work on an older version of WinDVD).

I then got cocky and tried to do a DVD of a HD recording of 24. That didn't work... I got a bunch of large files in /myth/mythburn/temp/ but no ISO.

Not a lot of usage, but it can work.

Tried 7 30 minute shows (PVR 350) but ran out of space.. tried 6 and it worked. Not sure if this is default behaviour, since this is my first time using MythBurn. What should I expect for behaviour ?

Greg.

For me it dosn“t work out of the box.
I changed the projectX line in mythburn.conf to
projectx="java -Djava.awt.headless=true -jar /usr/share/projectx/ProjectX.jar"
and (shame on me :oops: ) changed the permission of the temp folder to 777. Now I can burn from my box and web.
I use the mythburn csv version. Hope it works for you.

Worked out of the box for me... But I'm using transcode to cut commercials before burning to disc, so I haven't experienced any of the projectX issues.

It also worked find out of the box for me. I selected 4 30 min shows with commercials and it worked fine. I did notice however that no matter what image I pick for the highlighter, it always picks the box one. odd.....
