Has anyone tried the new release (R5B7) with a Geforce 6200?

When I tried R5A30.2 it didn“t work.
I got a nearly black monitor picture.

Is there new nvidia drivers in R5B7 ?

Have a nice day

No the driver is still the same due to a recommendation in the MythTV release notes. However if you search the forums there are simple instructions for setting up an 8xxx series driver. It looks like 8178 is the most recent current version. Just pay attention to the warnings about which features to avoid in the MythTV release notes. http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Release_Notes_-_0.19

I have the same card.

I had the same MSI fx5200 using svideo out to tv. It was working great and could play 1080i recordings to my standard tv at 800x600 with overscan and xvmc enabled with deinterlace turned on.

However, I bought another card the MSI fx6200 to try out the Y/Pr/Pb component connection.

I got it to work by turning off overscan, changing tvoutput format to hd480i and turning off DPMS (not sure which one actually fixed it, looks like turning off DPMS fixed the blue tinted picture)

So mplayer videos work and everything looks good.

However, if I try to use XvMC it just hangs on a black screen. Recordings play fine with XvMC off.

Next I upgraded the drivers by running:

Code:
install-nvidia-debian.sh 1.0-8178

Now the picture has a very stong blue tint and still won't play with XvMC.

:(

Edit: Forgot to restore the nvidia-tvout version of XF86Config-4....

the driver update installed a clean XF86Config-4, but when I copied my old one back and blue screen gone.

With the new drivers 1080i recordings play almost stutter free (AMD XP2600) without XvMC enabled but gets worse with time I think.

Turn on XvMC and it hangs on playback.

Here is part of my /var/log/XFree86.0.log

figured out the problem

i had to turn nvagp off (=1) to get XvMC working and it would still hang sometimes.

However, it seems like the latest drivers have fixed this bug for the 6200 series.

I'll try upgrading soon.
