I have searched on this, but nothing seems to answer my question.

After upgrading my box from R5B7 to R5C7, I assumed that I would lose most of the problems that I created for myself (because I only know enough about Linux to be dangerous to myself). I still have many of the same problems after the backup and restore. This is because the restore process includes /home and /etc. I want to restore just the database, and whatever else is necessary for the restore.

Basically, I want a clean install with all of my recordings intact.

How do I do that?

Auto Upgrade... After rebooting don't do anything... Open an xterm, delete everything in /myth/backup but the database close the xterm and continue with the upgrade.
