Hello all,

I have a fresh R5C7 install and I wanted to rip a bunch of eduaction CDs for my son. I was running R5A16 and when I ripped them all the audio tracks came out in Spanish. I didn't worry about it, he's 10 months and its good for him to hear other languages... I figured when I upgraded it would be sorted out. No such luck.

Yes, I am selecting EN 2ch in the audio options.. it doesn't matter if I select ES or EN they always come out in Spanish.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix?

If I pay it from the Play DVD menu, it plays in English just fine, I just don't want to have to keep swapping DVDs... the kid watches them over and over...

First link is the one I used..

To summarize

If a majority of your files are AVI or MPG then you want to edit /home/mythtv/.mplayer/config to

aid=1

DVD/VOB files are aid=128

This is the Default. For each of the other ones you will need to create

/home/mythtv/.mplayer/FILENAME.avi.conf (FILENAME.avi is the name of the file) to have the appropriate aid# (aid standing for Audio ID I'ld imagine..)

I've switched to Xine with:

Code:
xine -pfhq --no-splash %s

Which is the same command line as the DVD playback. So far so good, just made a few personalizations to ~mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc so the remote behaves the same way in Xine that it does during TV watching (volume buttons the same etc).

I'll give this a whirl and see if that helps. I don't want to have to edit files for every different DVD we might watch.
