When navigating the menus I accidently hit OK for MythRestore and next thing I know my machine is restoring all of my settings from June.

I am currently running R5C7 and the restore was from a couple versions before that. I am using a PVR 350 and I redid the ivtv modifications (last four steps), and dropped and added the cards and I can now see live TV, and new shows are recorded to the hardrive. But when I goto watch recordings it says "The file for this recording cannot be found".

I have tried going through all of the menus and mythtv-setup but I cannot seem to watch newly recorded shows. If I watch live TV and hit the record button those recordings will play properly in Watch Recordings, but not scheduled recordings. I made sure to perform a mythfilldatabase, and I have restarted a few times.

What else can I do to make this work again? Saying nothing of how annoying it was to have months of data erased by a simple mistaken button push.

Hi, If I am reading this right, you've lost loads of shows through accidently hitting restore when you hadn't backed up?
There is a remedy to accidenlty restoring an old version of the database. I can't remember the exact proceedure but if you search for posts about 'orphaned recordings' you should find instructions on how to reclaim them.
As to new recordings not showing up? (Did I read that right?) Don't know.
Hope that is of some help.

Yes I do have some orphaned shows, and I tried the perl script to add them, but the results of those also give me a "The file for this recording can not be found". And this might be related to my bigger problem.

I am mostly concerned by the fact that my computer is successfully recording new shows to the hard drive and it lists them in the Watch Recordings menu, but when I go to play them it says "The file for this recording can not be found".

I have figured out that it is now not recording properly so I will start a new thread.
