When i change the riung buffer size within "mythtv-setup" to say 5GB

The value in mythtv>information>Machine status still says 15GB?

Any ideas?

Wow that is an older version... If memory serves they're two different values. The staus one has to do with the actual size of the partition, the other one has to do with the max allowed size of the buffer for any given Live TV session. If you have multiple tuners and watch PiP or have multiple frontends then the total of (tuners x buffersize) needs to be less than the partition size by about 1Gb.

Keep an eye out for the current upgrade hints when you do. They should help to make the process smoother and easier, as well as making sure you don't miss or forget anything important.
