Hitting F will cycle you through options, Left and Right arrows adjust each one up and down. You can also get to these via the menu (hit M to get it up).


That sounds wrong. Default Gamma should be 1.0, I found stepping it up to 1.5 was needed with the GeForce "MX4" builtinto the Nforce2 IGP chipset. My FX5200 looks fine at 1.0. YMMV (It almost certainly will).

BTW - If you've got an Nvidia chipset the nvidia-settings utility is a far more convenient way to make these adjustments.

Are you doing something else, like holding down a shift button at the same time?

Pressing the > key advances live TV, < goes back on live tv. The arrow keys on the number pad do nothing. Are you doing this during live TV.

If going through nvidia is easier, (I have nvidia 6150 GPU on the Motherboard); how do you get to its brightness & contrast controls?

Same thing on my system, using the arrows results in program jump. Last night I tried it again for kicks, the current contrast was displayed (50 I think), when I used the arrow key it changed to -1. It had no actual affect on the picture, so I think X didn't like the request or the response from the driver.
