I just installed KnoppMyth on one PC. I am using it as both the front and back end.
However, I am receiving an error message:

"Could not connect to the master backend server -- is it running? Is the IP address et for it in the setup program correct?"

In database configuration 1/2 I have:

Host name: localhost
Database: mythconverg
User: mythtv
Password: muthtv
Database type: MySQL

What have I done wrong?

I'm having the same issue using version R5D1.
It seems that the MySQL server can't get connected. When i try to call mythbackend from the console, then an error is reported like:


Both, backend and frontend, are running on the same host.

Hmmm... i will continue to find the reason for that behaviour.

There is a known backend start up issue in R5E50. A search for "/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend" should provide the relevant details. Don't forget to click on the "Search fro all terms" radio button on the search form!
