From reading forum posts from Cecil, I take it that KnoppMyth started out with lots of Knoppix in it, but that it doesn't have much left in it anymore.

By comparing KnoppMyth to Debian Linux commands, it looks like KnoppMyth has more Debian in it than Knoppix.

Is that pretty close to correct?

Curious,
Eric

Yes. He may still use the hardware detection and mastering scripts but that's about it.

I'm not a purist, Knoppix is Debian. The same commands work in both.

Well, since the Knopp is mostly gone, perhaps a rename is in order?

WatsMyth or CesMyth, perhaps? :D

The first kinda sounds like a British city name.

This has been discussed before. There are over 700000 hits for a google search for knoppmyth, so you would need a fairly good reason to change.

I see from Cecil's notes on R5E50, that the bootup hardware detection is still Knoppix. So, I can see that the Knopp part of KnoppMyth name is still reasonable to keep.
