How about lsmod | grep ivtv and ls -al /dev | grep video and ls -al /dev/*lirc* and dmesg | grep lirc?

I'm starting to think that this issue I am having could be related to faulty hardware. I have an old WinTV Go-PLUS lying around and swapped it for the pvr-150 (non-mce). The remote is fully functional. I just had to modify the hardware.conf. Too bad I don't have an extra pci slot.
