I am having a few problems with automounting a share and im hoping someone can help me.

I have a windows box with a shared folder called 'Videos'. What i want to be able to do is to mount this into a folder called 'WindowsVids'.

I have eddited my /etc/auto.master file so that everything is commented out apart from the following line

/myth/video/WindowsVids /etc/auto.samba.mnt --timeout=2 --ghost

My /etc/auto.samba.mnt file reads

RobsVids -fstab,credentials=/home/mythtv/.smbpassword ://192.168.0.6/Videos

My /home/mythtv/.smbpassword file reads

username=mythtv
password=

The password is blank as there isnt one set

Now when i start up my machine the share isnt mounted. However im sure autofs is doing something as a folder is created called 'WindowsVids' in /myth/video.

Id be very grateful if someone can give me a few pointers here as im a bit lost.

I have managed to get my share working but im fairly sure that i havent really done it correctly. Using the knoppmythwiki entry on samba i added the mount to my fstab file. However the entry on the wiki for the autofs says you dont need to do this. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Ok i have figured it out, just obviously being blind when typing out the ammendments to the files on my system.

My /etc/auto.samba.mnt file should read

RobsVids -fstype=smbfs,credentials=/home/mythtv/.smbpassword ://192.168.0.6/Videos

Silly me
