I keep deleting recordings via Mythweb. They disappear off the MythWeb page, but as soon as I reload, they return. Why aren't my changes taking?

Do the recordings actually exist on your backend? If they don't, they won't 'delete'. I had this problem as I had a bunch of orphaned recordings that existed on a slave b/e that was offline. If this is the case, search orphan and there is a bunch of threads on it.

I once ran into this; in my case /myth/tv was no longer owned by mythtv. If that's your problem there will be other (even more annoying) symptoms like being unable to record new programs or even watch live tv.

I found some posts on adding orphaned recordings back to the database, but nothing about removing the recordings from the database. I went into /myth/tv and found all of the recordings in question and deleted them.

...but their entries are still in the database and there is no way to delete them through mythweb or the frontend. How do I remove those entries from the database or resync the database with only the files that really exist?

As user mythtv
Code:
$ touch /myth/tv/filename-db-is-referencing.mpg

Then go into mythweb or the delete recordings page and delete them. This will remove them from the DB and remove the empty file you just created above.
