Does this remote work natively in R5E50? I have heard that in older versions it did not. I'm holding off on ordering it until I can get confirmation....

My wife doesn't like using the laptop and mythweb to control the TV :)

The + is new to me... No provisions have been made to include support for it. If someone does the legwork (what is needed to support it, etc.), it can be included.

Well I ended up with a PLUS by accident (thought it was a 2) and it looks great. I'll try to get the thing going with help from the above link(s) until the new script is released.

Details on which route you take would be helpful.

I've tried all suggestions from the ATI threads and write-ups... without success. I've downloaded LIRC .8 & cvs. I've patched kernal files, read helpfull threads on LIRC, IRW, and every ATI wonder plus post on the mail list, changed batteries, changed usb ports, offered first-born and pulled out hair. While some have been able to get this remote going, it is beyond my very limited linux skills to do so at this point. I've also passed my self-imposed 12 hour limit on getting new hardware to work and am currently holding back from sacrificing this remote to 'wall of death'. I currently can't even get anything out of irw.

It's a great looking remote too, lightweight, small, good balance and button action. I guess I'll have to wait for someone else to crack it and add it to the lirc-config script.

anyone get this remote going with KM?

su
insmod ./ati_remote.ko
Does it work?

OMG, I just saw this. Sorry, I put the remote in a box and forgot. I can't download and the moment but will try it when I can get it. (After your busy season is over.)

Well, if there is any hope of it making it into the next release, it has to be tested [b]soon[b], else it will have to wait until R6.

I did the above and re-ran lirc-reconfig.sh but it's not detecting the Plus. Did I miss a step? the script doesn't show an option for the plus.
