I'm currently building an ISO with the latest MythTV (0.20.2). This will go to testers once I'm happy with it and all is working. This will hopefully be later this evening. Hopefully, a public release will be available on or before Friday. For those that are impatient, you can always follow the instructions I posted.

Despite the 0.20.2 releaes notes stating that weather isn't working, R5Fx will include a functioning MythWeather. This would be possible with the help of the community. Thanks to all for being a part of a little something I started...

A little behind schedule, but there should be not need to worry. Please allow the testers and I to make things as smooth as possible for you...

Cecil,
I am Trying to make the decision between implementing the get sources and install instructions from your other thread, versus waiting for the R5Fx iso.

If I were to go through the steps would I still want to install the R5Fx later? ie to make the eventual path to R6 smoother? or is this essentially an either-or process?

Thanks

Joe

Well, if all you want is the latest MythTV then install from source. If you want the additional items in R5Fx, the auto upgrade. Auto Upgrade should work from any release you can do a backup on. Again however, we'll only be doing testing from the last release to R6.

So, "additional items in R5Fx" sounds like I'd want to install R5Fx at some point even if I do the manual myth upgrade.

Looks like I need to balance the likelyhood of my effing up the manual install versus my impatience for the new ISO.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll be waiting.

Indeed I think there shall be a lot of computer geeks sitting in front of their myth boxes this weekend. I'm also anxiously awaiting R5Fx, thank you Cecil for rushing to get it done for all us anxious users!

I dunno. I totally bodged my box with them... probably my fault... so I'm waiting breathlessly for the ISO. :)

I understand obviously this takes time and it must be tested, but is the time frame: days, weeks, months?

Thanks
