As closure to this case the driver was a pain in the butt to install and much harder than the NVidia one, but the guide at: http://xoomer.virgilio.it/flavio.stanch ... aller.html helped install the driver, and it did in fact solve the the videos issue, and the guide issue. I assume the playback is fixed as well, but I will have to see.
