Me too (I had to say that). I get the same error when running x11vnc from terminal. I am glad freenx is gone I just didn't like it.

VNC was working at the start when I did a fresh install of R5E50 but now it doesn't. I am think it might of stopped working after I edited /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps to get rid of the blue screen behind the video player. I had added [startup] {xvattr -a XV_COLORKEY -v 0} before [startup] {KnoppMyth-run}. Could this be causing it not to start?

If not got anything else I could test?

After a clean install, VNC still doesn't work. Could it have something to do with my Xorg.conf?

I had a problem with this when I changed the password in:
[startup] {/usr/bin/x11vnc -nap -wait 50 -passwd mythtv -display :0 -forever -o /var/log/x11vnc.log -bg}

I had edited /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps via ssh using nano on a winxp machine. I was able to confirm a problem by doing it twice. The problem that occured in my case was that a return was introduced and the above line was split.

...but I didn't even change the password. This is from a clean KM install.

I've had problems with VNC starting since R5D1 (now using R5E50).
Prior to R5D1 following the "X11VNC How To" always worked. Now vnc server never starts automatically.

Whenever I reboot I have to enter "/usr/bin/x11vnc -nap -wait 50 -passwd mythtv -display :0 -forever -o /var/log/x11vnc.log -bg" from the comandline to get it to start. Then it always works.

Anyone have any hints/tips for getting the vnc server to start properly?
