Hi all

Managed to solve the problem by doing the following

Got the latest CVS dvb drivers from linuxtv (use empty password)
Code:
cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.linuxtv.org:/cvs/linuxtv login
cvs -z3 -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.linuxtv.org:/cvs/linuxtv co -P dvb-kernel

Compiled it,
Code:
cd ./dvb-kernel
make

Went to build directory and copied the relevant modules over the top of some existing modules
Code:
cd ./build-2.6/
cp ./dvb-core.ko /lib/modules/2.6.13.2-chw-3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/dvb-core/dvb-core.ko
cp ./cx22700.ko /lib/modules/2.6.13.2-chw-3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/frontends/cx22700.ko
cp ./cx22702.ko /lib/modules/2.6.13.2-chw-3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/frontends/cx22702.ko
cp ./cx24110.ko /lib/modules/2.6.13.2-chw-3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/frontends/cx24110.ko
cp ./dvb-pll.ko /lib/modules/2.6.13.2-chw-3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/frontends/dvb-pll.ko

I then deleted some of the usb dvb drivers because I had read a topic somewhere where someone mentioned they had found that they cause conflicts with the cx88 event stuff.

Code:
rm -rf /lib/modules/2.6.13.2-chw-3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/ttusb-budget/dvb-ttusb-budget.ko
rm -rf /lib/modules/2.6.13.2-chw-3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/dvb-usb/dvb-usb-nova-t-usb2.ko
rm -rf /lib/modules/2.6.13.2-chw-3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/dvb-usb/dvb-usb.ko

And when I restarted, ta -daa, the remote worked.

Looks like their might be issues with the kernel drivers in some situations.

Cheers

(sorry to cross-post, meant to post here)

upgraded to R5C7, appear to have lost wireless and therefore internet, which makes setting the remote messy (I used to copy and paste the contents for the sample files over from a windows PC via Putty ssh).

pls can one of you fine gentlemen e-mail me the sample files to nickparkinson@yahoo.com

(or if thats not allowed for some reason perhaps someone could upload the files and post a link?)

Code:
/etc/lirc/lircd.conf
/home/mythtv/.lircrc

much appreciated
