I very much agree. The current code even says in the comments that it's a proof of concept, and that the final implementation will likely be very different.

I'd like to see the latest version remain in there, even if (and I'd say it probably shouldn't) it's not the default. I do use it and it works with most of the videos I use it's a nice touch, though I do have the bug about getting stuck at the end of a show, so the updates would be a nice addition.
