Saw this thread and realised that its been just over a year since my first post - which means a good year of viewing pleasure, MythTV has completely changed the way I watch TV - and Knoppmyth made it easy. Time for another $10 - thanks Cecil!

I just put in a $10 donation too. Keep up the good work and thanks for bearing with us with all of our questions and begging for new versions.

BTW, I'm a full time programmer and I work with building distros, hardware, getting programs to work, etc, as my job, and I don't even want to deal with the headache of Myth from scratch. I probably either wouldn't have any setup or maybe even a Windows box with costly software if it wasn't for Knoppmyth.

just want to keep this thread visible for a time period.
I love the fact the cesman chooses not to make it a sticky. I love it even more that the community chooses to mod it up that old fashion way.

Congrats to everyone on another year of hard work.

Just wanted to say thank you again to all those who have donated so much of their time and effort to this project, this forum, and the wiki. I'm not sure anyone in my family could handle watching TV the 'old fashioned' way - even my 7 year old can work her way around all the menus to make sure her programs get recorded.

Thanks again -

Allan

Hi There,

I just wanted to donate and say thank you. My wife would also like to thank you for allowing her to see her tv programs late at night when she is feeding out 6 week old.

Thanks,

Paul F.

I have a few pcs up and running that I tinker with and of all of them,my mythtv box is the only one thats stable, doesn't get bogged down with viruses and does not require any maintanance. My $20.00 donation isn't much but I hope helps out in any way.

$20 donation sent! I had tried to install regular Myth on my first system earlier this year, but since I'm not that familiar with Linux, I didn't make it very far in the first few days and was getting rather frustrated. Just like the original poster, I came across KnoppMyth and couldn't be happier. There were still some hardware configuration issues that I had to work out, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have even made it that far if it weren't for KnoppMyth. Thank You!

Just sent a gift to say thanks for a really kewl distro.

I setup my first myth box on Mandrake when .7 (I think, it was a long time ago) just came out. It took a whole weekend just to get anything working, and several weeks to get it all working right. Over time I did more installs/upgrades and it was a little less painful but still allot of work.

Then I found out about Knoppmyth. The first time I ran the live cd and connected to my backend everything worked. Wow I was hooked. Backend was soon upgraded to knoppmyth and has been running it ever since through several upgrades.

I currently have a BE/FE system and a couple FEs + a Hauppauge MVP that loads everything from the BE.

I could have built it all from scratch but it would have taken allot longer and would be a pain to upgrade. Knoppmyth makes it a simple process to build and upgrade all of the systems and has created a community of users that can support a distro with a very specific task, to be the ultimate Set Top Box.

Thanks to everyone that has worked on knoppmyth, it is a great piece of software.

:)
