I followed Cecils steps and everything seems to be good except for my mytheb. I am getting this mesasge in my mythfrontend:

"The mythbookmarks plugin was compiled against libmyth version 0.19.20060121-2, but the installed libmyth is at version: 0.20.20070821-1. You probably want to recompile the mythbookmarks plugin after doing a make distclean."

I followed marc's steps on page three to fix mythweb, that did not fix the issue. When I try to get to mytheb from a PC browser, I simply get a blank page with no message.

Any ideas?

Looks like we have the same issue. If I can figure it out, I'll let you know what I did. Here's the output from me trying to populate my channels from the listing.

Good deal, I have the shows I watch set up manually right now. If I can't get it fixed today I am probably going to reinstall when the new version comes out.

By manually, do you mean you were able to edit the channel information and assign XMLTVIDs? Or that you just added all you channels and switched your recordings over to manual dates and times?

Also, I just realized that I didn't following the script perfectly. I ran everything as root from start to finish. Did you do the same? (Because I'm like 75% sure that it wouldn't make a difference anyways.)

I have run it multiple times. I ran it as root the second time accidentally but the first time I ran it as my user.

I just did a channel scan and set them up like a VCR.

Did you restart apache? ie, /etc/init.d/apache restart

Hey marc, yes I did restart apache. That did not help. I also checked all my other mythplugins. MythNews is suffering from the same issue.

Steps worked great on my R5E50 backend. Now I just need to update the frontend and I'm set. :D

Tama, I'm not sure what is going on. What version of Knoppmyth are you on? I suggest taking a look at various log files located in /var/log. At a minimum check the /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log and /var/log/apache/*.log for messages that provide more information. The wiki has an article on other logs files -- http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... ngLogFiles

OK, another question. When I go to create a new video source I get this error: tv_find_grabbers exited early or we timed out waiting. Do you see the same thing?

First:

Excellent write-up, cecil... worked like a charm, except...

Second:

I no longer have a 'Knoppmyth' Entry in the MythTV Menu. The biggest concern for me is the abilty to backup and restore. Is there any way to get that menu choice back after re-compiling from the svn?

Thanks

Thanks for the great info. I didn't have a single problem on R5E50.

Question:
I'm running R5D1 on one backend and two frontends. If I apply this "fix" to my backend will I have to do anything to my frontends?

I believe you will need to make change on both frontends and the backend because I believe a 0.19 frontend cannot talk to a 0.20 backend.

After running 'make'
Code:
checkinstall -D --pkgname mythtv --maintainer me@myemailaddy.isp
This will build a deb you can install on your frontends.

Nice, thanks Cecil. Does that e-mail address need to be valid?
